BEVERAGE CARTON

All cleaned, light packaging carton that used for contains liquid:

• milk and juice cartons • desert and source packages NB Large cardboard cartons for which there is no room in the bag can be delivered free to the waste reception facility or be left in the shop. Remember only beverage carton.

PAPER AND LIGHT PACKAGING CARTON

• newspapers • weeklies • periodicals • writing paper • mail advertising without samples • cereal packages • egg cartons • washing and rinse agent cartons • pizza cartons • shoeboxes • other light packaging cartons

NB! Because of the glue, envelopes are to be thrown away as Remaining Waste. You can also throw light packaging cartons here but not beverage cartons. Do not dispose corrugated cardboard here.

REMAINING WASTE

Use a bag from your retailer.

Remember to turn it inside out.

Waste not suitable for other bags: • diapers • dirty plastic • dirty carton • gift wrap • envelopes • plastic objects • vacuum cleaner bags • well wrapped china, ceramics, crystal • etc.

NB! Ashes must be cold and packed in three well tied bags. Electrical articles – see EE waste. Paint, varnish etc. – see Dangerous Waste.

PLASTIC PACKAGING

All plastic packaging: • plastic film • bags • bottles • containers • beakers • boxes • coffee bags

NB! Rinse the packaging in cold water – remove food remains. Plastic toys, toothbrushes and other plastic items are not to be put in this bag. Polystyrene go in residual waste.

FOOD WASTE

• meal leftovers • fruit • vegetables • eggshells • flour and baking items • teabags • coffee filters • milk products • small amounts of kitchen towel and egg trays • small amounts of flowers

NB! Do not put plastic or garden waste in the food waste.

GLASS- AND METAL PACKAGING

Retrieval device for glass and metal packaging.

YES: Glass bottles • Glass jars • Tin cans • Metal food packages • Aluminium packaging/foil • Beer/soft drink cans without deposit • Metal lids/stops • Metal tubes • Spent tea candles

NO: Porcelain, pottery and crystal • Ovenproof dish • Mirrors and windowless • Batteries and light bulb • Paint cans • Non-packaging metal, for example: • Frying pans, boliers • Cutlery • Car parts

NB! It is important that you do not throw anything other than glass- and metal packaging in the container!

EE-WASTE

Electrical / electronic equipment such as computers, refrigerators, TV / PC monitors can be delivered free to the store that sells such equipment or delivered directly to one of Remiks Recycling Centres.

EE-waste also includes: • electrical toys • light bulbs of all types • mobile phone • shavers • hairdryers • flashing kids trainers • etc.

DANGEROUS WASTE

To be placed in blue special waste containers or delivered directly to one of their Remiks Recycling Centres: • paint • varnish • glue • thinner • oil • fluorescent tubes • economy light bulbs • cleaning fluids • car battery • cell phone battery • button cell batteries • aerosol spray cans.

Empty paint cans or paint cans with dried paint are to be delivered to one of Remiks Recycling Centres.

NB! Use leak-free – and preferably – original packaging. If using non-original packaging it must be clearly marked with what the contents are.

GARDEN WASTE

Garden waste is sorted into two parts. Part 1: Twigs, branches, tops, trees and roots up to 30 cm in diameter can be delivered to Recykling Center on Remiks Miljøpark. Roots must be free of soil and rocks. Part 2: Grass, moss, leaves, soil, sand and stone can also be delivered, but the packaging used during transport must be removed (flower pots, bags, etc.)

FURNITURE

Usable furniture can be delivered to the second-hand shop at Remiks Miljøpark or any other second-hand shops.

Non-usable items can be delivered to one of our Recycling Centres in Tromsø and Karlsøy.

TEXSTILES

It is deployed cabinets for textiles on most of Remiks Return Stations. Two organizations are resonsible for this service. It is UFF and Fretex.

These organizations have also deployed cabinets for textiles elsewhere in the municipality.
